Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently convened a meeting with General Officer Commanding (GOC), Gajraj Corps, Lieutenant General Manish Erry to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming Rising Sun Water Fest 2023 at Deepor Beel in Guwahati. The meeting, attended by senior officials from the Army and civil administration, aimed to review the festival's preparations and discuss cooperation between the Army and civil administration.
During the meeting held at the Chief Minister's Office in Guwahati, various aspects related to the festival were discussed. The excellent rapport between the civil administration and the Army over the years has played a significant role in improving the internal security situation. Additionally, the Army is currently providing training to five special police battalions to enhance the capabilities of the state police. The training is scheduled to be completed by September this year, further strengthening the security apparatus.
