Assam Court Issues Stay Order on Release of 'Sri Raghupati' Assamese Movie

In a recent development, an Assam court has issued a stay order on the release of the highly anticipated Assamese movie titled 'Sri Raghupati'. According to reports, the Kamrup (M) District & Sessions Judge Court took this decision due to allegations of a breach of contract involving former producer Suruj Sarma.


The case was filed by Dhritimaan Sarma, the son of Suruj Sarma, who accused the movie production team of violating the terms of their agreement. Upon hearing the case, the Metropolitan Magistrates Court promptly ordered the restraint of the movie's release.


Scheduled to hit the theaters on June 2, 'Sri Raghupati' features renowned actor Ravi Sarma in the lead role. The cast also includes talented performers such as Preety Kongana, Priyam Pallavi, Siddhartha Sarma, Arun Nath, and Arun Hazarika, among others.


The plot of 'Sri Raghupati' revolves around Raghupati Rai Baruah, an ACS officer known for his dedication and integrity. The story takes an exhilarating turn as Baruah embarks on a daring mission to rescue missing women. During his investigation, he uncovers a widespread women trafficking racket, leading to increasingly complex situations.
