BSF Apprehends Two Bangladeshis in Meghalaya

Two Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the 110 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) in East Khasi Hills on Thursday. Acting on a specific tip-off, the BSF troops caught the duo, identified as Islam Uddin and Fazer Ali, who had entered Indian Territory illegally with the intention of robbery/theft. The Bangladeshis had stolen machinery parts used in Border Fence construction and planned to commit robbery in an Indian bordering village. The theft items and the Bangladeshi nationals were handed over to the PS Bholaganj for further action, and an FIR was lodged against them.

According to reports, the BSF in Meghalaya has apprehended 27 Bangladeshis since January who have entered India for nefarious purposes. In addition, BSF Assam apprehended a suspected Bangladeshi national, Shaheen Khan, from Salapara village near the Indo-Bangla border in Dhubri district on Thursday. Khan had entered India illegally several months ago and was arrested while returning to Bangladesh. The Sukchar police took custody of Shaheen Khan after he was handed over to them.
