In a significant breakthrough, authorities have apprehended four individuals in connection with the theft of the revered 'Golden' holy book from Luguthang monastery in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The arrests were made in Meragoh village by the Arunachal Pradesh police.
The stolen golden scripture holds immense historical significance, and its disappearance last month had caused distress among the community. The incident occurred on the night of April 28 when unidentified miscreants forcibly entered Luguthang village Gonpa by breaking the lock of the main door. They managed to abscond with an ancient Buddhist holy book made of gold, weighing approximately 35 kg.
Luguthang village is situated in the remote regions of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. Upon receiving the report, a dedicated team of police led by Tawang District's Sub Inspector, Pema Wangchu, initiated a rigorous investigation to track down the stolen book.
After an arduous 9-hour trek, the police successfully arrested the four suspects in Meragoh village. Moreover, they managed to recover the stolen property, bringing a glimmer of hope to the local community.
