The Chief Minister on Friday reversed his decision to resign from the post after thousands of his supporters blocked his convoy from proceeding towards the Governor's house in Imphal.

CM N Biren Singh was expected to meet Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey around 3 pm on Friday, but a large number of demonstrators, gathered outside his house after rumors started doing rounds that he was contemplating resigning from the post.

The CM had reportedly made up his mind to step down after renewed violence in the state on Thursday that claimed three more lives and left five injured. However, he changed his mind after his supporters blocked his convoy and tore up his resignation letter.

The news of CM N Biren Singh's reversal of decision was met with mixed reactions from the public. Some people welcomed his decision, saying that he was the best person to lead the state at this time. Others criticized him for making a U-turn and said that he had lost the people's trust.

It remains to be seen how Singh will be able to address the concerns of the people and restore peace and stability in Manipur. However, one thing is clear: his decision to stay on as chief minister has not gone down well with everyone.
