During a recent event at FICCI Frames 2023 in Mumbai, actor Ayushmann Khurrana discussed his unconventional path to success. He recalled feeling unsure of how to make his mark in an industry with established actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. Ayushmann noted that his approach involved taking risks, which led him to his breakout role in Vicky Donor. He also explained that he rejected six previous film offers before accepting Vicky Donor, as he knew that his first film needed to be a success in order to prove his acting abilities.
Ayushmann also spoke about his preference for unconventional films, stating that he cannot see himself in a typical commercial movie. He believes that his career is made of risks and that the only way to stand out is to take chances on new and innovative projects. While Ayushmann's films have often been called the "Ayushmann Khurrana genre," he maintains that he never set out to create a niche for himself.
Finally, Ayushmann commented on the changing landscape of the film industry post-pandemic, noting that engaging films will always find an audience. He believes that the industry is in a self-discovery mode, and that good movies released within budget and in the right space and time will always have their share of success. Ayushmann's next film will be Dream Girl 2.
