Woman cuts off man's genitals in self-defence during attempted rape in Assam

In Morigaon district of Assam, a woman reportedly cut off a man's genitals in self-defence on Monday. The incident occurred in Baralimari village, where the accused, Osman Ali, a tantrik and resident of Dhula village in Darrang district, had come to help a childless couple. Ali allegedly entered the woman's home and attempted to rape her, prompting her to run and grab a sharp object with which she severed his genitals. The man was rushed to Morigaon civil hospital in critical condition before being referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for further treatment. He is currently undergoing treatment.

A similar incident took place on March 2 in Nagaon's Batadrava area, where a woman also cut off a man's genitals in self-defence when he allegedly attempted to rape her. The accused, who lived next door to the woman, entered her home at night and tried to rape her. The woman, in an act of self-defense, used a sharp object hidden under her bed to cut off the man's genitals. She then filed an FIR against him at Batadrava Police Station, while the accused was admitted to Nagaon Civil Hospital.
