Another BJP Leader Arrested for Extortion in Assam, Days After Moon Ingtipi's Detention

BJP Leader Arrested for Extortion in Assam

Hailakandi: In a recent development, Assam's Hailakandi witnessed the arrest of yet another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader on Thursday. Ansarul Hoque Choudhury, a prominent member of Assam BJP Minority Morcha, was apprehended for allegedly extorting money from multiple individuals under the guise of providing government employment opportunities.

The apprehension of Choudhury comes only a week after the arrest of Moon Ingtipi, another BJP leader, on charges of fraud in Karbi Anglong district. Ingtipi previously held the position of secretary in the BJP's Kisan Morcha in Karbi Anglong.

According to sources, it has been revealed that Ingtipi exploited the victims by falsely claiming association with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Tuliram Ronghang, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council. These false affiliations were used to coerce individuals into surrendering money.

This recent string of arrests has sparked concern among the public, as it sheds light on the alleged illicit activities within the BJP leadership in Assam. The authorities are expected to thoroughly investigate the cases and take appropriate action against those involved in extorting innocent citizens.
