Assam Cabinet Reshuffle: Ministers Allocated New Portfolios in Addition to Existing Responsibilities


Assam Ministers Allocated New Portfolios

In a recent reshuffle of the Assam cabinet, two ministers had their portfolios altered and were assigned new departments along with their existing responsibilities, as confirmed by an official notification from the Chief Minister's office on Monday.


As per the notification, Cabinet Minister Jogen Mohan, who previously held the portfolios of Revenue and Disaster Management and Hill Areas Development, was given the additional responsibility of the Department of Mines and Minerals, while retaining his existing roles.


Likewise, Cabinet Minister Nandita Gorlosa, who previously held the portfolios of Power, Cooperation, Mines and Minerals, Indigenous and Tribal Faith and Culture (excluding Directorates of Library and Museum), was assigned the additional responsibility of the Sports and Youth Welfare department. Additionally, she will oversee the Directorate of Archeology, which falls under the Indigenous and Tribal Faith and Culture department.


Assam Ministers Allocated New Portfolios


The official notification also stated that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will now take charge of the Indigenous and Tribal Faith and Culture department, excluding the responsibilities of the Directorate of Library and Museum and the Directorate of Archeology.


It is worth mentioning that the Sports and Youth Welfare department was previously under the Chief Minister's purview but has now been entrusted to Cabinet Minister Nandita Gorlosa.
