Numaligarh: A major fire that erupted at the Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) in Assam's Golaghat district has now been successfully contained, according to sources on Tuesday. The incident occurred in the vessel VV-4 of the Hydrocracker unit around 7:20 pm on Monday. Thanks to the swift action of the refinery's firefighting team, the blaze was brought under control, with no injuries or casualties reported. The explosion was so intense that shockwaves were felt up to seven kilometers away, causing refinery employees to evacuate. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire, while NRL officials are committed to identifying preventive measures for the future.
