Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has stated that Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma is dealing with a "mental block" and that there is no technical issue with his batting. Rohit has struggled to score runs in this IPL season, managing just 184 runs with an average of 18.39 and a strike rate of 126.89. In his previous two games, Rohit failed to score a run, and in the last match against Chennai Super Kings, he scored his 16th duck, the most in IPL history. Sehwag commented that Rohit's struggles are not with the bowlers but with himself, and that there is a mental block. MI is currently in seventh place with 10 points, following five losses and five wins. They lost their last match to CSK by six wickets. While Cameron Green and Ishan Kishan scored only six and seven runs, respectively, opening the innings, former Australian batsman Aaron Finch claimed that the Mumbai openers appeared perplexed and that they should learn from CSK's Ruturaj Gaikwad. Despite Rohit's struggles, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli is in excellent form, having scored 419 runs so far in the IPL. Former South African spinner Imran Tahir praised Kohli's consistency, stating that what Kohli has achieved in the last 15 years is really praiseworthy.
