Indian archers win big at Asia Cup Stage 2 World Ranking Tournament


Indian archers Jayanta Talukdar, Tushar Shelke, and Mrinal Chauhan were part of the Indian team that secured four medals in the Asia Cup Stage 2 World Ranking Tournament in Tashkent. The team advanced to all four team event finals in the recurve and compound sections, winning two silver and two bronze medals. In the semifinals, the top-seeded Indian men's recurve team, consisting of Chauhan, Shelke, and Talukdar, defeated the host nation's Chen Yao Yuy, Mirjalol Karorov, and Amirkhan Sadikov 6-0 to set up a final against rivals from China for the gold medal. Meanwhile, the Indian women's recurve team, comprising of Sangeeta, Prachi Singh, and Tanisha Verma, defeated Uzbekistan in a tiebreaker, while the compound men's team of Abhishek Verma, Kushal Dalal, and Amit, who received a bye into the semi-final, defeated Saudi Arabia to reach the final.
