Reportedly, a young girl was taken by an infamous individual as she was heading home from her school in Tezpur on Thursday. The event occurred during the afternoon hours near Dandinath Kalita Primary School.
According to a statement made to the press by a head teacher at the school, "an unfortunate occurrence took place today at my institution, where a young girl was taken by a man while she was on her way back from school. A woman who happened to be passing by noticed the man's suspicious behavior towards the young girl and approached him."
The young girl was later found near Devi Singh Ghat, although the kidnapper managed to get away from the scene.
